Building A Business: SquareUp Card Reader For Entrepreneurs

February 18th, 2013

Hey Boogas,

How are you???? If you have already watched the video above then you know now that I am PREGNANT!!!! =) This is my first child and I am having a baby girl. So now do you forgive me for not posting every day like I should be? I am still working towards my dreams and goals even though I am pregnant. It is not easy but it is possible. I am and will be living proof of that.

So, I decided to film this Vlog for you guys. I wanted to introduce you and/or inform you on this SquareUp Card Reader. It is super convenient for any Entrepreneur that has a need to do monetary transactions. You can just plug the SquareUp Card Reader into your Apple or Android device, swipe a credit card and BAM! The money is in your account the next day.

SquareUp does take 2.75% per swipe of the amount you charge but they do not charge you to order the reader. If you know that you will be charging a lot of money, they do give you an option to pay $275 a month instead of the 2.75% per swipe.

I think that this is awesome. No more accepting the “I don’t have cash” excuses. Bust out your SquareUp and get the swiping. I know I will carry mine everywhere.

***BTW, SquareUp.com is not paying me for this post. I’m just trying to be informative and tell my journey.***

Why Be A Entrepreneur? Why Am I Doing This To Myself?

January 23rd, 2013

Hey Boogas,

Some people just can not grasp the idea or reasons why people work so hard to become a successful Entrepreneur. Why would you want to put in all that work? Why would you work so hard and not see the rewards right away? I can understand why some could not grasp the reason people take this leap of faith but it is really simple to understand.

For me, I am greatly determined to live within my passion and be embedded within happiness in all aspects of my life and career is a big part of that and life. When I wake up, I want to wake up to doing my own thing and making my own moves towards making myself and my family happy. I have so many ideas in my head and I have several passions that I want to work on and live in them for as long as I am passionate about them. I don’t care about the money. I care about my happiness and also bringing happiness to those who support me. That my friend, is what being a Entrepreneur for me is about in the least bit of words.

If you want to understand some other reasons why, YFS Magazine has20 Reasons Why Entrepreneurship is Awesome.” I agree with all the reasons. Here is the list but click the link to read on them in more detail.

1. Develop financial independence.

2. Set your own schedule.

3. Bring your ideas to life.

4. Have creative freedom.

5. Release the fear of being fired; you won’t likely fire yourself.

6. Finally be challenged- in a good way.

7. Build something that will last a lifetime; create a legacy.

8. Work from home, your own commercial office space or anywhere in the world.

9. Gain personal fulfillment by pursuing your passion.

10. Impact the lives of many through social entrepreneurship.

11. Hire employees and contribute to economic growth.

12. Call the shots and become a leader.

13. Become involved in all aspects of a company’s operations.

14. Put a personal touch back into doing business.

15. Improve upon old ideas.

16. Celebrate massive accomplishment.

17. Provide a better quality of life for you and those you care about.

18. Build a business as an investment for yourself and future.

19. Design the lifestyle that best suits you.

20. Rule the world and improve upon your own personal power.

With a list like that, why would you not want to take the risk of being a Entrepreneur?

Real Husbands of Hollywood & Second Generation Wayans Premiere!!!

January 15th, 2013

Hey Boogas,

BET might have scored themselves some hot new television series that could possible be a big hit amongst viewers. I sent my Los Angeles ‘Frenzy TV’ crew to a private screening of both shows; “Real Husbands of Hollywood” and “Second Generation Wayans.” Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon and Robin Thicke are just a few who are a part of this scripted reality tv series ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood.” The show pokes fun of all these Real Housewives shows that are out there and it is all in good fun.

‘Second Generation Wayans’ is a “comedy about making it in Hollywood” as BET describes it. It stars a bunch of Wayans, George O. Gore as well as Tatyana Ali. It’s nice to see some fresh faces on television as well as the veterans.

My LA correspondents; Rose and Ashley (Thank You Ladies!!!) hit the red carpet and snapped some cool candid flicks of this private event. Check the pics below and also check out some video clips from both shows which you can catch in its entirety tonight on BET at 10pm and 10:30pm. Back to back comedy will be in full effect on Tuesdays.

Brace Yourself!!!

January 4th, 2013

Hey Boogas,

I want to thank you guys sooo much for your ongoing support for whatever I have ever thought of doing and have done. I’ve been sitting on my jewelry for a while now, just making little pieces here and there, but it’s a new year and I have sat long enough. This egg is ready to hatch and it has already began to crack.

Above is a bracelet I made that will also go for sale really soon. My pieces will be limited edition, so there will only be 10 of these pieces made. 5 will be in gold and 5 will be in silver. They are all handmade by me, so they are all made with love. As soon as my website is done, I will let you guys know a week in advance when they are actually going on sale so that it will be fair to everyone.

If you do not already, now is the time to keep up with me socially;

I will also be keeping you Boogas updated here on the blog as well. Once again, thank you all for the support.

Let’s Keep Building…

January 2nd, 2013

Hey Boogas,

Boy Oh Boy, I love me some Oprah. On New Years Eve, a little bit before the ball was going to drop, I felt like I needed some inspiration. I went on Youtube and searched Oprah. In the search, “Oprah: Building A Network” popped up. I immediately clicked on it because I knew this would give me exactly what I was looking for. It’s a documentary looking into Oprah’s journey of starting her OWN network and all the trials and tribulations that came along with it.

I found it fascinating how a woman who already had such a concrete fan base, millions of contacts and so many people who would be willing to do whatever she asked, still get out there to make sure things were done the right way to give off a clear vision of what she wanted her network to portray. Oprah continued to stand her ground regardless of what the media was saying about her failing or about what the public were saying about her doing interviews just for rating. She just blocked out the “hate” and kept on trucking.

Why did I want to share this with you? Well, because it is the prime of 2013 and I want to encourage you as well as myself to block out any “noise” that is against us when it comes to fulfilling our dreams. Sometimes the “noise” can come from our heads as well that stems from fear but we have to block that out and keep building. When you get overwhelmed about the business you want to start, school you want to finish or whatever it is, think about Oprah going out on a limb building a network as a African-American WOMAN! What can be more difficult than that and she did it, so we can do whatever it is we desire as well. Let’s keep building!!!

January 1st, 2013

Hey Boogas,

Let me start out by apologizing for just neglecting you all just like that. I am truly sorry but my excuse (which I will not give right now) is worth forgiving me for. I am back with you guys and I am happy to be back. Now that you Boogas have forgiven me…

2012 was a good year but 2013 will be even better. I usually get a notebook and write a list of resolutions down but this year, I will not do so. I have some main mindset goals that will guide me to greatness and they are:

1. Stay Focused

2. Stay Motivated

3. Finish What I Start

If I can continue to keep these 3 things in mind daily, I can get so much more done without the pressure of 2014 coming. Take things day by day but with daily goals in mind.

Even though I don’t have any direct new years resolutions, what are yours? Feel free to share!

Happy Monday Boogas: What’s The First Thing You Say To Yourself?

October 8th, 2012

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what’s the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What’s for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what’s going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. “It’s the same thing,” he said.”- A.A. Milne

Hey Boogas,

Start your week off with positive thoughts and a great breakfast! What’s the first thing you say to yourself when you wake up in the morning? You might not think so, but your first initial thought sets the tone for your day. Remember that for tomorrow morning.
