Happy Monday Boogas: Dare to Dare

September 24th, 2012

Hey Boogas,

HAPPY MONDAY! It’s the beginning of a new week and a new chance to do something great. Above is a picture of a card that was given to me by a very special person back in 2011. I keep it on my desk because the words are captivating. It says,

“I believe the most important single thing, beyond discipline and creativity, is daring to dare.”- Maya Angelou

In order to do something great, you must be a bit more daring to get it done. What is it you would like to accomplish this week? Dare yourself and get it done. People are being daring everyday, so you should be too. This week, I am daring myself to do a DIY project. I shall it share it with you when I’m finished with it. I’m super excited!!!!

I hope all of you have a “daring” week!

Last Day Of Summer: Transition Your Summer Wardrobe Right Into Fall

September 21st, 2012

Hey Boogas,

Today is officially the last day of SUMMER!!! But don’t be so fast to pack up your Summer clothes and store them away. There are plenty of ways to bring your Summer wardrobe right into the Fall season. I have some tips for you all along with some pics I snatched from Pinterest (my new love). So if you want to see how you can stretch your gear into Fall, then keep scrolling down!

Layer Over Your Favorite T-Shirts & Tanks

You know those comfy fitted t-shirts that you wore all summer to just lounge around or even run errands in? Well, you can still wear them and wear them with style. My suggestion is that you layer it with a cute jacket, a oversized cardigan or even a blazer. The Fall weather can be a bit skitzo, so it would be best to wear layers that you can take off if it gets too warm and put back on when it gets a bit chilly. See what I mean below.

What To Do With Those Open Toe Shoes?

It used to be a huge fashion crime to wear socks with sandals but the Fashion Lords have spoken and made it okay. There is a certain way to wear socks and stockings with your open toe shoes or sandals. Don’t over do the trend with other trends. Keep it light, simple and chic. Get some inspiration below on how to keep those open toe shoes/sandals in rotation for the Fall…

We Wear Short Shorts! In The Fall Too!

I know a lot of you women were going HAM with cutting your jeans into shorts. There were so many tutorials on Youtube on how to cut your jeans into shorts, how to tie dye your shorts and all the gazillions of other DIY’s. Now that Fall is here, don’t feel like your shorts wearing days are over now. The most easiest and most fashionable way to wear your cute shorts during the Fall is pairing them with some fun tights, stockings or leggings. There are so many styles to choose from. You can wear colored tights, printed leggings or even nude stockings under those shorts. Which ever style you decide to choose is totally up to you but make it look good!

Remix Your Maxi’s!

Maxi skirts and dresses seem like they are a must have every summer. They are easy to wear, lightweight and can be worn in many ways. This is still true for the Fall. You can wear your maxi dress with a blazer or even throw on a shirt and give the illusion of you wearing a long flowing skirt. You can do the same with a maxi skirt or even hike up the skirt over your breast and wear it as a short dress. Pair it with a cute jacket, some cute shoes or even wedge sneakers and hit the town. See what I mean below.

Say Yes To The Dress

Dresses don’t really need to be put away for any season really in my eyes. With the right accessories and materials, you can wear a dress anytime you want to. In the Fall, the wind is blowing and the rain might come down but that is nothing a cute jacket and a umbrella can’t cure. There are 3 jackets every woman should own and those three are a denim jacket, trench and a leather jacket. If you don’t have either, you need to run out and get at least 2 of the 3 so that you can wear them with your cute summer dresses this Fall. Look how these ladies are wearing them.

I hope these tips will come in handy for the next couple of Fall months. Let me know how it works out for you.

Happy Monday Boogas: Be Organized

September 17th, 2012

My home office… A bit organized…

Hey Boogas,

HAPPY MONDAY!

Smile and be thankful for another day. This week, we all should concentrate on ORGANIZATION within our lives. Life runs so much more smoothly when things are in order. You don’t have to run around in the morning looking for your lucky boxer shorts for that job interview, you don’t need to shuffle through a whole bunch of papers at your work desk looking for that one important document and when the cops pull you over for a blown brake light, you don’t have to spend minutes looking for your license and registration. So this week, focus on one or two things that can really use some organizing. Don’t try to do it all because you might get overwhelmed and give up. Just take baby steps. Click this link —>UNCLUTTER YOUR LIFE IN ONE WEEK<—- to help you with tips on how to get it together. Happy Monday!!!

Im on the train headed to the city with my good friend Maribel. So I shall leave you with this,

KICKSTARTER: Support Antonique Smith

August 15th, 2012

Hey Boogas,

If you watched the video above, then you know who Antonique Smith is now but if you did not or can not view the vid, let me give you some background on who she is. I personally had no idea who she was when my good friend Amina mentioned her to me. When Amina told me what movie she starred in then it all came to me. Antonique is multi-faceted person when it comes to her talent. She is an actress best known for playing the role of R&B crooner; Faith Evans in the biopic film, NOTORIOUS. She also played a role in the Broadway show, RENT. Not only does Antonique act but she sings as well (very well might I add).

Here is where the support part comes in now that you have an idea of who Antonique is. She created a KICKSTARTER campaign in order to raise money to fulfill her dreams of creating her first album. I personally love the idea of KICKSTARTER because you are able to donate money towards helping another person fulfill their dreams. Antonique needs our help to assist her in making her dream become a reality. She is looking to raise $50 thousand dollars by September 2, 2012 in which she has already raised over $8,000. You can donate a little as $1 and trust and believe, every little bit counts.

So click on this link ——–> HELP FUND ANTONIQUE’S DREAM <———– in order to donate. Help support her dream. Wouldn’t you want someone to support you and yours? Click the link.

Thanks Boogas!!!

My Birthday Week & It’s “Ah Ha” Moment…

August 6th, 2012

You have been waiting for something to happen, which will then allow something else to happen. What you are waiting for could help to ignite a more positive chapter in your life. You have probably heard the old saying “A watched pot never boils,” and that probably applies to how you feel right now. But it isn’t really true that a watched pot never boils, Leo. And, although you have been waiting for a very long time for this change to occur, it will happen. In the meantime don’t become anxious or angry – practice centering yourself and inviting peace and harmony into your life, and when the change finally occurs, you will be in the best state of mind to receive it.

Hey Boogas,

SO IT’S OFFICIALLY MY BIRTHDAY WEEK! Owwwww! My birthday is this Saturday, August 11th. I am excited and so blessed to have made it another year all intact, in good health and great spirits. As you know, I love to read my horoscope daily. I have a horoscope app on my phone and my tablet that sends me my horoscope everyday. Above is my horoscope from yesterday. I can’t explain how fitting this horoscope was for me and especially yesterday. There comes a time in your life when you get slapped with that, “Ah Ha” moment and I got hit hard yesterday. I just know that I’m on the right track and I will get where I want to be sooner than later. When you believe and you think positive, great things do happen. Believe me!
